3000+ hrs by 25?. Only with the REDS. And some say the Orange.

It is somewhat impossible with the 1Malaysia company for the current generation.

With the REDS you'll definitely collect 1000 hrs by the end of each year and that is for sure.. On a monthly basis, FO's are flying an approximate of 80 to 90 hours.

She got into AirAsia because her husband.

The "morale" of this video is, these two girls have connection! ::D: It is not easy to get into MAS or AirAsia or Malaysian air operators without connection.

How long is progression into command? since you guys are clocking up the hours kinda fast. I'm sure there's plenty of people with >3500hrs still at the right hand seat.

m732,
At one time, there are issues with some if not all F/O with excess 3500 hrs. demanding to be promoted to 'captainship'.
Should anyone be promoted automatically when the hours are up? Or are there other 'factors' to be a captain?

Right, Its not totally all about the hours you clock, they also require a minimum of 1 year of service in a wide-body aircraft before you are eligible for a command upgrade. Not only if you have the Hours and the years of experience, the process of being 'bumped' from Right to Left is pretty rigorous. Its not an automatic promotion, you will have to be recommended first in order to be promoted.

Cheers..

Certain companies like EK, EY and CX, a pilot will be given a chance to undergo 'Command Training' after he fulfilled all requirement stipulated in OPM/OM Pt A ....... among others are hours requirement, seniority, good training and personal records, report on last 4 PPC, passed 'Pre-Command Assessment' (technical interview), passed 'Command Assessment Line Check' and last but not least recommended by 'Promotion Board' ............ not easy but 'DOABLE' .......... ;)

Whether the trainee will obtain his '4 Bar' at the end of the course is a different matter.Passing rate for EK & EY is approx 70% and CX is approx 50-60% ......... :(

Male or female, both are subjected to the same standard ........ ;)
