Anyone knows if FAA's type rating valid for Malaysian use?

I guarantee you 110% that you will definitely have to do some sort of conversion...

"Type rated" is only applicable to heavy aircraft in DCA M'sia

It depends on which aircraft you are typed rated. For instance, a pilot is type rated in (>5700Kg) King Air, then, DCA M'sia will consider and the checkride has to be conducted by DCA M'sia.

Same goes to the Boeing 737. If he has FAA licence and type rated as SIC with limitations, and when he wants to be type rated in DCA M'sia licence, it will be conducted and tested by TRE on behalf of DCA M'sia! Then, whatever type rated in SIC with limitations (in FAA licence) remains the same after the pilot passed the DCA M'sia checkride.

When comes to flying big heavy machines, DCA M'sia prefers FAA licence with type-rating not just FAA licence alone. DCA M'sia knew that type-rated FAA licence is hard to earn!

Thank you for the information. Was just curious with the type rating advertisements on PPRUNE. They claim it can fast track one's career
