I came this topic once ... what the usual advices u will get for this would be:

1) wait for it to stabilize, if ur myopia (assuming it is) hasnt settled to a fixed condition.
2) correctable lenses are perfectly fine in commercial aviation as long its 20/20.
3) its better to wait till your late 20s or early 30s to do it possibly for similar reasons as in 1)
4) there are other alternatives u might want to look into that doesnt permanently remove* something from your eyes - ask if it is aviation verified first though.

The final verdict is that its totally up to you and that the above are just common opinions.
I myself am just below +3.0 but will most likely go for 3 or 4 - coz once surgery is done theres no going back; i also heard there are some glare problems at night. stuff u might wanna get familiar with before proceeding. Hope this helps. Good hunting.

my power is 450 if not mistaken and pilot is 120 below...so im worried that laser will even worsen my eyes and the suffering i need to go through....

Try going for the medical check-up yourself. You'll probably pass but need to use 'corrective lenses' ;)

There is a limitation stated in the MCAR regarding amount of power in your lenses, but I'm not sure if it is strictly enforced here... looks like as long as corrected to 6/6 is ok?

6/6= 200 power.. u may wear corrective lenses as long as ur power does not exceed 200..u'll pass the medical check up. just the doc will write in ur report u need to wear corrective lenses..hehe

Yes its true to do a laser treatment at a more mature age, coz the power will stop increasing or maybe maintaine there.
By 'lordchaos91's statement, eye laser procedure is not painful or suffering or anything disasterous at all. Its only causes pain about few hours after surgery and after the anethetic wear out. Then the next day, ur eyes is as good as new, my experience.
In my knowlegde, laser treatment is not a problem in becoming a pilot, the eye power restriction/rule is only apply for that particular airline company u wish to apply job with. E.g. one of the airline i come across, states that the requirement for direct entry pilot is eye power below 400, even after laser surgery, the power before you do the laser treatment still applies. So it makes no different in your career. It only make a huge different to your lifestyle. I duno bout msia, but in aussie, to qualify for flight training, short or long-sighted is not a problem at all, even colour blind student can pass medical exam.
One of the student here, are colour blind, he was brought to a GAAP CTR to ID the notification lights. He can ID the Green and Red light, and he passed.

6/6 = 200? What do you mean?

I know of people who's correction power is more than 200 (that means 2.00 diopters right?) but still get their class 2 for PPL purposes...

who told u the limit is 200? there is no limit as long your vision is corrected to 6/6. except for initial it has to be 6/60 without glasses (i.e being able to read the biggest letter in the chart)
