This is off topic but may I know why do you always write 'fATPL' instead of 'ATPL'?......... ;)

Dear Drebarbas,

Hmmm fATPL would be referring to frozen ATPL(fATPL) right? I'm asking as such because isn't that the qualification most fresh graduates will be having after coming out of their FAs (CPL+IR, 200 hrs flight, and fATPL)? As far as i know, to unfreeze ur ATPL u need to earn at least 1500 flying hours of an instrument above a certain weight etc etc.

The reason i'm always asking from that angle is to know more about the options available or what to expect when one is in that position; in this case the minimum direct entry for SIA or other foreign airlines for that matter(assuming of course market is bad locally at that time). I'm probably gonna get the usual, ''if it is the right time and the market looks and stuff...'' but I guess its an itch not to know more. Well, for your consideration, thank you.

Just digging more stuff before and if all fails, going in as a privately funded cadet -if that is even still on the table then hahaha :><: .

Mr_aviator: Thanks for explaining it earlier but I guess this is a specific 'why' pointed at me xD

Thank you OscarWilde,

I asked because normally we in the mainstream do no use the term. It is fully understood that a fresh graduate will possess that qualification in order to be employed. However, nothing stated that we cannot use the term either............... ::D:

F refers to frozen. Frozen ATPL u can get in flying school, but to unfroze it you need to clock-in 1500 hrs on turbine engine.... And that is what you can't get in flying school.. Correct me if I'm wrong..
