Hi guys..may i ask you about salary of a co-pilot? i mean when a fresh co-pilot get endorse to the airline company how much they will get?

Actually yesterday my dad just spoke to somebody from FA..he told that a co-pilot only get around rm 3k and they will need to be a co-pilot for Fooker first..it will take 10 years until they will be first officer? is it true? Coz of that right now my fahter a little bit reluctant for me to become a pilot? damn..i'm little disapointed..FYI i'm 25 years old right now..

Can you tell me how many years usually a fresh SO will be promoted to FO and then a captain?

Any source that can I rely to convince my dad about the scheme of pilot salary including how many years to take to become SO,FO and captain?

I really need your hepls guys..really disapointed right now..

You're 25.. do you have a job or something? Should look into options like loans etc if your father doesn't want to sponsor you (which btw, shouldn't be the 1st solution).

Not true at all, expect double the salary at least.

You can always become an instructor in a Flying Academy. In GGIFA the AFI gets 6k basic and RM60 per hour of flying

Skycrewz,

Firstly, I suggest you should do a survey of the followings:

1. How many JOBLESS pilots are there in the market right now ...........?

2. How long does it take to clear your loan (if taken) based on approx fig RM2-3k/mth .......?

3. What are the chances of getting hired after graduated from academy .......?

RM300k is a lot of money to most of us (I don't know your financial status) and investing with uncertain future is a risk that I would not take ............ :=\:

The last thing I have to worry is career progression, i.e SO>FO>SFO>Capt, because it will fall into places AS LONG AS YOU COULD SECURE THE JOB ..........

AirAsia can't expand now due to the congestion at the LCC terminal. Now waiting for the new LCC terminal to be completed. That will take a while... :p
