Bravo Sidewinder!!!! you have the right essence in putting the facts correctly but lets evaluate the occurences.Normally in every pilot it is drilled to abort before V1 and that too with 20 kts still to reach V1 instictively one tends to bring the throttles back.At that moment it does not strike immeditely that runway is badly contaminated and obvoiusly u will overrun the runway.Yes One should continue with take off coz such cold temp are giving the added thrust to all ur serviceable engines and will get the ac airborne.well done sidewinder.

Moreover when u will abort remember u get max braking at higher speed range and if u use ur reverse ur windscreen will become white due to snow spray and now u will have problem to keep on the runway. nose steer is less effective on snowy surface and takes longer reaction time to correct. That is why i will use prudence and continue take off.

Another fact we have forgotten is at no point any one mentioned of abandon speed for wet runway .Can any one fill me up that what should be the abandon speed for a contaminated runway and can it be lower then Vmcg.

HAPPY LANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
