Could I know of some prestigious flying schools outside of Southeast Asia? My budget is about RM500k. Will it make me more marketable?

Get a degree and a license..Then you will be wanted by any airlines..My friend went to australia for his licence..Still he have to convert and after he convert he went for AFI cause no airlines want him..Just my opinion..Belilah barangan buatan Malaysia..hehe ::D:

There are several prestigious flying schools worldwide, but they will not deliver a licence acceptable straight forward by malaysian DCA. You will have to undertake a conversion.
Every school, even those prestigious ones, have their strong points and their weaknesses. The best people to give indication on those schools are the Airline chief Pilots in charge to survey the Flying school for selecting the good one for their cadets.
With time, some FTOs which were very good become less excellent after a major change or the contrary. So it is really a snapshot.
Soon, we expect that the Airlines will classify TBM FA amidst this handful of prestigious schools... but we have to prove it first: it is the challenge we are taking up.

you will have to do again partly (or totally) ground School and some flight hours including a test by malaysian DCA. It will take several months and money... everything depends on the exact licence you get abroad.

Basically, its just very simple. If you plan to work in Malaysia, the best option is for you to get your license locally in one of the flying schools approved by DCA Malaysia (Less Hassle/Complicating). But If your plan is to work abroad, the best suggestion is for you to do it at the country where you plan or wish to work in. At the end of the day, the option is still open to you i.e. : -

1. Get License in Malaysia and work In Malaysia
2. Get License in Malaysia and work Overseas (Conversion Course to be Done, More Money & Time spent)
or
1. Get License Overseas and work Overseas
2. Get License Overseas and work In Malaysia (Conversion Course to be Done, More Money & Time spent)

Hope this helps,

Cheers!
