Contrary to previous post, Terengganu01 has not left TBM FA.
But due to the economical crisis, investors are reluctant to invest in a flying School. So the decision has just been taken by our board to put TBM FA "on hold' until further notice.
Good luck for everybody

Hello, I am interested to start my training to become a pilot.
TBM is the best I think...

I have some questions for TBM?

1. why do you want train pilots on an aerobatic plane, when you can train stalls on a school's plane like the Cessna or DA40?
2. what's the use of the A320 fix simulator?, when I may go flying a Boeing? or become a flight instructor?
3.will I get a JAR license? in this case, what European country will give the license (UK???)? will I get both license for the same cost (malaysian and JAR)? where I have to do the test?
4.why don't u train under the FAA syllabus, FAA syllabus is simpler and better quality training. The FAA syllabus has been in this world much longer than the JAR, and airlines prefer the FAA(no expiration date, no base training...)
5.why did you choose the Diamond, and not the Cessna 172?
6.Why do you want train H pilot from the first hour? the workload will be too much for Students.
7.There is a school in Thailand, who has the same syllabus. What do you think about them?...I think it's in Nakhon Phanom.

All very interesting posts.
Once I knew a Fat French Frog, AKA Asain Frog, who was a manager at a flight school in Thailand, known as IAC. After reading previous posts on the PPRUNE and Thaivisa websites by ASIANFROG, and comparing them to posts on this site made by Terengganu01, I cannot help but note an uncanny similarity... could this be DEJAVU or a nightmare?
In the Thai case, 4 DA42s were purchased and 6 DA40s. A ratio of single engine to multi engine aircraft that is simply not workeable in a realistic flight training environment. (much better with modern PA28-181 for SE traning and Seminole for ME training). An Extra 300 was also purchased, and in 1 year+ the aircraft has flown less than 30 hours of revenue flying! An A320 Fixed base simulator was also purchased, but within the Asian region, the A320 could not be used for authority recognised training for any licence (ie JAA MCC), and therefore is not being used (but it certainly did not come cheap!). There was a lot of talk of quality experienced instructors, and also of JAA licencing. All from a man who has never been a pilot and has zero hours of practical flight training in an aircraft. (JAA which is now EASA has very stringent requirements to approve FTOs that are based outside Europe. The process is also extremely costly. Some of the testing (flight) MUST be done in an EASA member state, so all of the training can not be done in Malaysia. This would add significant cost to the customers). There were of course voices who, for professional and realistic reasons opposed these decisions being taken by one megalomaniac, however, they were swiftly disposed of and dismissed. Later though, this Fat Frenchman ran very fast from Thailand to Malaysia, leaving a restaurant and 2 dogs behind to avoid prosecution after those he previously dismissed, won an unfair dismissal case in the Thai courts, and the Thai university board sought legal retribution from this French 'gentleman'.
Now that same university is struggling financially to keep its head above water while simultaneously trying to pay off the debts that were accumulated by the frog.
In short, I would not trust this chap to run a newspaper stall next to the roadside let alone a flight school.
I see a rumour being posted that he has been sacked, well if his past has caught up with him, I would not be surprised. I also note that it has been a few weeks since his last post. Where has all of that optimism gone from his earlier posts?
I notice in reading this topic that many members appear to be amazed at the empty promises being made by this chap. I was always told if something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is! I hate to be the bringer of bad tidings, but in my opinion, that would certainly apply to this case. Don't hang on empty promises. Getting into aviation is expensive, and is not easy, particularly at this time of economic recession. However with drive and determination, anything is possible. No matter what the alternatives, I would certainly not part with one penny towards any flight training at a school that is run by this man, and would advise you to do the same.
Good luck to all here in their flight training, a rewarding career awaits you in the future.

CHECK OUT WHAT HE PM ME.. HAHAHAHA...

Terengganu01 wrote:Dear Maverick,

We are not yet ready to post who we are and what we will propose in the Flylah forum. However, I would like to underline that the quality of Malaysian schools is not always very good and yes some business men were dreaming to make money in this activity.
I can ensure you that one of the Terengganu projects (TBM FA) is a very high quality one, and already some of our competitors are fearing our market entrance because they know we are Civil Aviation Professionals, they know we are a very strong team, and yes, they also know we respect our students. We are not unknown from Malaysian DCA and Malaysian operators, half of us have already trained hundred of Malaysian students (Air Asia and MAS cadets) and we are joined by instructors of international standards. If, some are very happy to see us back on the scene, because we are going to set the challenge high in quality. some are also afraid to see us back: they are those business men looking after money and running low standard schools.
Your position is helping them in their attempt to block us. <--- WELL, TOO BADDDDDD (Edited)
We are educators more than business men and our share holders have more money than they need, but they are also flyers (privately), they have noticed the issues and they just want the best for Malaysia and the future generations...We are happy to be back on the Malaysian scene and we know that we are working in the interest of students.
The number of schools will reduce as some have to go out of business because their training quality is too poor and because of that, their students have very limited chance to get a job, ....

Terengganu 01

Please you should think about this, thanks

--- This is What I Replied ---

Dear Terengganu 01,

I totally respect and understand what you're trying to say. I too understand that the quality of the current situation of the flying schools has dropped drastically. But what do you actually mean when you said, "Your position is helping them in their attempt to block us"?? In what way have I or any of my posts have offended you or the Terengganu Projects (TBM FA)? As far as I can recall, I am very sure that the postings that I've submitted had nothing to "BLOCK" your attempt in this particular project.

You will have to understand the consumer side of the story as well before you misinterpret anything that I or anyone else have and will be posting on the FlyLah forum. As for the consumers, or fresh students I might say, we are always afraid of trusting a new school or business which has just entered the Aviation scene as some of us are investing a large amount of money and for some, their entire life's savings. This is practically normal as we would always want the best and by getting the best, we would always want to see good results from a particular organization.

Regards,
Maverick

Please YOU should think about this instead, thanks
--- END ---

I HOPE THEY CATCH YOUR SORRY A$$,,,
