Chances to be LAE

Postby aranny2001 » Sun May 09, 2010 12:24 am

As i go around so many aviation company in malaysia, i found that most of the company or airlines do train their own TAME apprentices.. this really make me a hard time of making a decisions either stay in aviation or leave to go for other field or degree cert...

I can say nowadays msot company and airlines having too many of TAME apprentices, even i can say it's over supply to the company until some of the apprentice doesn't really work as a LAE but end up in Tech Service,QA or QI Department... i can see the demand start decreasing in a very high rate now due to over supply... As a technician how high is the chances can we make ourself to comptite with those apprentices? Company hire you and expect you to be a technician but not really trying to make you as LAE since they have their own TAME program goes on..

It's realy not a good sign for people like us trying to work hard wanna become LAE. Cause without any type rating, you still not known as LAE, cant establish as LAE. Even we pay money to go to overseas to get EASA or some other license, does it worth? since every overseas recruitment is looking for citizen or PR.....

anyone, please leave some comment here , let's share about this issue...

yes,i'm a technician working in a big airlines in malaysia... hmmm..honestly, i dunno if u can become an engineer or not. but if you have a strong mind then may be you will... but bear in mind that things always not turn out as what you thought and heard from others... the pathway to be LAE might not be what you known from your instructor too sometimes... things always change around us... as far as i know, i got few info from foreign engineer regarding the LAE demand.. seems like over supply now... think about what will happens after 5 years? will you able to become LAE? get a chance to establish as a LAE which assisted the company?

i'm not trying to demotivate you, but it's really good that you plan and wanna become a LAE... but honestly not everyone able to make it... i can say i might be the one of them.... so if you really wan to be, may be you should keep moving forward without considering my questions.

anyway, i wish you all the best and good luck...

aranny2001...my bro,

Can you tell / give me statistics of how many airlines in Asia buying new aircrafts??? How many human resources required for a HMV on B747???
As we are now in 2010, have you heard any MRO in this world is planning to replace their human technicians/engineers with Intelligent Full Axis Robots or similar to Avatar...?? None so far huh...MRO stands for MAN REQUIRED ONLY....the only industry so far which is still impossible to be converted into fully automated production line. Pilot can la...he he he

arranny,
Personally I see you having a distorted view, incomplete at best of the whole industry. I do not know how longhave you been in the industry but seem to me not long enough... :^^:
The demand for LAE has always been there for years and has never been filled. MAS alone keeps snapping up those with LWTRs.. The same goes for AA and AAX.. too many TAMEs? :<.<: Think again.

2 months back MAS was in desperation for about 600 technicians/mechanics with few hundred license engineers.

Enough said.
