if not mistaken you still can get your DCA license in Air Asia, just might need to take a longer time from base maintenance. Cause in order to sit for your DCA license, they suggest that you need to cover at least 75% of all the ATA chapters. correct me if i'm wrong....

yes, EASA is recgonise by msot of the countries, but do you really able to get a job even though you're holding an EASA license? that's i'm wondering.. you can go to overseas MRO or airlines to view their recruitment, most of the time they are looking for the local citizin or permanent residence... May be the only hope is in middle east like Emirates or Qatar airways......

No can do. AirAsia is not Part 145 Maintenance Organization, therefore you need 5 years lah.
Are you not clear of the requirements?
If you work with AirAsia, its faster for you to get DCA's LWTR.

hi there i'm new here just wanted to ask can any1 explain to me abt the difference between part 145, and part 147 and why does it states that 2 years work schedule required for part 145 organization, while part 147 work schedule required is only 1 year.... lately for the year 2010 all the question's in EASA has been changed to more mind cracking questions.... would you believe reasonly i set for the physics paper, i was so surprised to see that my physics module was a combination of module 5, which is digital techniques i tried my very best on answering the questions and i went through. trust me there is no source that can help anymore even by licensed by post package.... 2010 easa has changed all the questions..... sry if i said anything wrong thank you

Part 147 is approved training org.
Part 145 is approved maintenance org.

As for the years required, I'm not sure, gotta read up lar.

Are you taking B1 or B2?
I ain't small. I'm just designed for fuel tank entry.

thx ammogurl for the info. on the part no.

by the way i'm currently doing b1, and for the cat. in b1 is b1.2 which is piston airplane.

For further questions, may i ask if any 1 can supply me some reading source or questions, for the updated easa 2010 cause abit nervous after CAA planned to changed the questions. i know that i'm demanding but in return u may ask anything, and i'll try my best to give u.

The employment offers are directly related to the TYPE RATINGS that you have, NOT really related to the LWTR that you have. EASA is obviously the current accepted standard although BCAR's Section L license is still being accepted which is under the ICAO type II license.

Do remember, EASA's B1 and B2 licensing is only a licensed mechanic certification programme.

what do you mean by this, the 1 in bold letters...i thought after getting your license in EASA part-66 u are qualified LAME...then how come it's a mechanic program.... mark me if I'm wrong confuse already bro....

This requires a bit of reading on your part and understanding how the EASA evolved from the JAR.
Not many I am afraid, understand the concept of the EASA-66 foundation.
This is only my view.
Think of this: Why the need of Module 1-Mathematics? It is what you have learned from school and yet you're being thought again. Why? Its the target audience! It is assumed that you know 'nothing' and need to be thought and brought up from scratch. Much similar to FAA's licensed mechanics but in a more controlled and organized manner.
Mind you B1 and B2 is for line certifications only. :><.:
