Postby nazirul87 » Mon Mar 08, 2010 11:33 pm

hi all

im quite confuse why boeing 734 didnt use plumb bob to do alignment & symmetry check while other boeing aircraft need to use plumb bob to do alignment & symmetry check.

whats a different using plumb bob and not using plumb bob.

The best tool for alignment and symmetrical checks would be an engineer's transit or theodolite.
Usage of plumbob line dropped from designated aircraft points to the floor and these drop points measured from a datum point should yield a similar readings left and right side of the aircraft central/longitudinal lines, hence symmetrical.

The choice of which methods to used lies with the engineer who is doing it and what tools and equipments that he has access at that point of time.. :))
Real planes have propellers!
