hello,I'm a student from tafe, done my first semester here, there is still about 2.5 years to go.
I got an offer to study at miat doing Diploma of Engineering Technology in Aeroplane Maintenance,3 years to be exact.
But the problem is since DCA is going to migrate to DCA part66,which option that would be the best for me to choose?

gimbe,
Of late, MIAT's students submission to sit for the LWTR examination has been rejected with no reasons given and I would assumed their required 6 months OJT is not acceptable to DCA.
As far as Part 66 is concerned, all ATOs that was under AN85 will be automatically be Part 147 albeit with limitations.
I suggest you talk to MIAT themselves and ask about their Part 147 migration.

With all due respect to TAFE, it is still not a DCA approved trainning organization and lets leave it as that.

I am not aware of any junior techician programme opened to other than the citizens of Malaysia.Only MAS has this programme for locals.
Your best bet may be getting the EASA-Part 66 A1 licence.

All these EASA Part 66 training are not free. In Malaysia several higher learning institutions are pairing it with a diploma/degree programmes. I do not know the situation in India.
There are part time courses for mechanics/technicians including licence programmes but again, these are meant for local workforce. If your intent is to seek employment out of India, it's going to cost you,in order to get the required training and qualifications.
Have you tried enquiring whats available locally?(India)

I wish we could help you more.
I was approached my someone I knew yestesday who has contacts in India about getting students from India to be trained either in our DCA Part 66 or EASA-66. I said it is quite possible as these licences are open for all, as long as someone pay the fees...
Like it or not, you need to join the aviation workforce for these training.
