to all timer, i got a question, im a grad student in miat and the dca said that miat's student have a "privilege" of taking the lwtr exam without having any experience in the field. so, is it advisable for us to go and take the exam? or should we laid back, find some experience and then get the license. i heard some rumours the diff. between a jt and a license personnel punye salaries is quite far.

So Thanks!

Salam guys....
If I know all Miat Graduates had this privilege,I would had enroll with Miat right after I finish my SPM instead of going to unauthorised maintenance school and finally I got nothing, just wasting my money and time!! :(

I got a few questions here regarding MIAT. Hope someone can answer it for me,especially from Ex-MIAT.. :)

1) What's the different between Diploma of engineering Technology (3 years) and Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Technology (3 1/2 years)?? I've check in MIAT's websites, the only different is 1 have OJT and the other don't have OJT.
2) Which one of the above mentioned course are compatible for LWTR-for those who intend to get DCA license?
3) Does it have any pre-entry exam to enroll with MIAT? As far as I know, there will be an interview before entering MIAT. I'm planning to study in MIAT and I just wanna do some preparation for that so I don't wanna get kicked by them for failing the exam/interview.. :)

Thank you!

amin fuzi,

Based on my understanding...for question no:

1.Ok...the program for 3 years actually the study syllabus is based on EASA modules..but unfortunately they didnt conduct an EASA exam...so lame...my advise...if u got this program...dont waste ur time by u finishing the diploma 1st then u plan to sit for EASA exam afterward, the best way is during ur study in miat...at the same time apply for example at british council for EASA exam..take modules by modules according to your study plan in miat...that should be easier..and for this program also ur OJT will be ur last semester ..ok then for 3 1/2 years program, ur study syllabus will be based on FAA or BCAR if im not mistaken..and u will do ur OJT on semester 5...

2.Both program are compatible....its up 2 u... ^^

3.Actually there will be a simple test before u go for an interview...if u pass the test then straightly u will go for an interview on the same day...^^ do not be afraid...if u good in english, math and physics there should be no problem at all... ^^

hoped this information will help u....^^

p/s:if i mentioned anything wrong...pls correct me k sifu2... ^^

Thanks kenzen..You've been very helpful..

Actually, I'm planning to sit for DCA's License exam. It will be more cheaper even though many people said that DCA's exam are tougher and harder compared to EASA and you won't pass all the papers in 1st attempt... But I believe if I really focusing on what I'm doing, I can pass that exam.. Like a wise man said, No pain no gain, right? ::D:

I would like to thank to Torx and 9M because thay had given a great explanation regarding LWTR and how "Law of The Land" works...Makes me know which path should I follow.... And also thanks to you kenzen!! :)

nagami,
That 2 years is the OJT requirements.
You still have to pass ALL your modules! Are you taking B1 or B2?

NO, you're working in a Part 145 MRO, so 2 years is sufficient.
