it will be better if you able to go to approved part 147 training school... well... i'd like say.. it's some sort like a short cut... if u wanna save money, of course become a self starter... i'll advice you to get a job first then only think about it... without a job, it's really hard to get your license...

the only approved part 147 that i know of course,AST in scotland, City of bristol college angd glamorgan,if I not mistaken.. but the fees can reaching over rm100k..reason I want to further my studies because I couldnt get a job. I thought maybe will be easier to get employed if I have finish all EASA modules.. I've call somebody in charge with EASA training program in MIAT. he said that once their students had finish all the exam modules, they will be issued a certificate of recognition by UKCAA,not from Aero-bildung or National Aviation Authority(German) and just need 2 years working experience to get an EASA license.. So,there will be no problem to convert EASA license to DCA license since your EASA license issued by UKCAA... anyway, thanks for your advice aranny2001...

Admiral wrote:MIAT is PART-147 Training Organization. Yes, after completing all courses in MIAT, it only take 2 years working on live aircraft to get the EASA Part-66 license. Actually, you can sit the EASA exam during study, or directly after you graduate from MIAT, and if you pass all the examination, you will get a freeze EASA license until you the completion of 2 years maintenance live aircraft practices. MIAT have The Maintenance Training Organization Exposition, MTOE for the part-147 approval. Meanwhile the Aero-Bildung collaboration, is for the market wise for grads to work in EU.

Yo...Admiral my bro, can I correct your statement - MIAT is NOT PART 147 Training Organisation under EASA, it is only a second (satellite) site to Aero Bildung gmbh. How to become a second site? Macam ni ceritenyee... :))

Similar second site colleges in Malaysia such as Nilai College/Transmile (now defunct) with AST, Perth, Scotland...all they need to do is to sign a MOU with this EASA Part 147 organisation, sent their instructors to sit for their Module exams...approved them as instructors under their MTOE and voilaa.....their organisation now becomes Satellite Campus for Part 147 Training Organisation...now they can conduct exams and also some teaching guidance here and there...ooppss..don't forget...all this not FREE maa...with a FILTHY price in Euro currency of course. :p

BUT it is TRUE....(this approval a lot of people even MIAT management / staff and students..kind of tak ambik port(didn't even bother to care about)THAT.....

MIAT is an approved training organisation APPROVAL NO : ATO/001 under Reg 31 - DCA, Malaysia (fyi DCA, Malaysia is a tier 1 National Aviation Authority amongst our neighboring countries, what is tier 1 NAA??? find it yourself...heh heh whoaa..everything want to spoon feed aaa??) :><:

So..if you have completed your diploma courses at MIAT with at least 6 months working experience on live aircraft....you can submit Form JPA-5 to DCA, Malaysia for LWTR written exam(settle your Air Legislation paper first then technical papers either Mecha/Av)...DCA still refer to BCAR Sec L Issue 13 (why you requires less working experiences??? It is because MIAT is ATO under DCA, Malaysia...don't you get it???? There are ONLY 4 ATO under DCA, Malaysia....again find the other 3 yourself...heh heh.
Forget about EASA !!! We are not part of EU...we have our own law of the land !!!! Even those who holds EASA licenses still kena mengadap DCA, Malaysia to be able to practise their EASA licences here in Malaysia... ::D:

My sekupang advise to those EASA license SEEKERS....go visit DCA, Malaysia at Putrajaya (which section?? cari sendri..heh heh - talk to them / ask them what is the best for your career path. ::D:
Lastly...to all bebudak UNIKL MIAT Diploma holders....FORGET about continuing your Degree / EASA Programme at UniKL MIAT -
go to DCA, Malaysia TODAY !!! ....fill up the JPA - 5 form and submit NOW !!!!!! Accepted or not.....don't worry..janji submit and follow up back with DCA, ask them what documents are not enough, complete it and if accepted...Wishing all of you the best for your written and oral exam. ::D:

torx - gua sudah lebeh ckp la..kalu lu nak censor gua tak marah....gua sayang kat budak2 muda ni...they should get the right info!!

Cheerss...

ninermike,
I have no issues. You stated you points (in your own way) and I am agreeable.
I do not know why the hype about getting EASA license, it's a 'licensed mechanic' programme similar to FAA mechanics. It is by EU for EU. It is not that our DCA's license has no value. It is still very much recognized and highly respected especially middle east countries. IF you want to work in the EU then by alll means get it. You will compete with EU citizens.

The sad part about MIAT's students is that soon after completion of their diplomas, they're(most of them) not bothered to submit and get their license. Even the paid tutorial LWTR classes conducted at night by certain LAE have very poor turn out.
We can only do so much for them...the rest it's their call.
Enough said.

vincez,
There is no more CAA license.. they're part of EU hence EASA license.
Even if you have CAA or EASA license, in order to work in Malaysia you must have DCA's AMEL(LWTR) hence the conversion by taking Paper 1 examination, the Air Legislation paper. This is STILL the requirement even when DCA adopts the EASA-66 Syllabus. You must remember we're not EU. It is still DCA's license.

Clear? :^^:
