Correct, if M'sia can recognise EASA, why not the other way around...
BUT think again, Malaysia boleh! What happens if not many people hold DCA license, as most of them decided to do it overseas under EASA, got their license in UK, then decide return to work in Malaysia but with EASA Pt66 License. After all, M'sia is trying to get their own citizens back to work here, same like doctors. So DCA no choice, government pressure DCA to recognise EASA Pt66...
I still remember back in the BCAR Sect L days, if I'm not mistaken, MAS sent all their trainee engineers to UK to get their UK CAA BCAR Sect L LWTR, mainly because it takes too long for the trainees to get their LWTR from DCA (not to mention too difficult also!). Then these trainees return to M'sia with their UK LWTR, sit for M'sian Air Legislation paper and they are issued M'sian DCA LWTR!
Anyway, back to my original question - syllabus wise, EASA B2 (not those from sect L grandfather rights) & DCAM B2 : Are they the same?
I think DCAM will always recognise foreign licenses, they need to due to shortage of LAEs in M'sia. Look at the amount of expats working here. They range from license holders of Singapore, New Zealand, UK, Australia, to name the most popular. These guys just sit for M'sian Air legislation paper & get their M'sian license...
