Hi Aaron... i understand how difficult it is for you to grasp right. I can explain a little bit for you...just a brief one.
1. LAME and LAE is similar- with regards to their work scope. LAME will turn to LAE after you removed the letter 'M'.
Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Because they are 'certifying personnel', regulations require them to acquire a licence without type rating (LWTR) or we also call it as Aircraft Maintenance Engineers' Licence (AMEL) and type rating courses. LWTR/ AMEL is a basic licence and also serves as a pre-requisite to...becoming a LAE.
