Hi...jobless,

Great !! At least you have a job now then you can change your nick frm 'jobless' to 'employed'. ::D:

If I may ask - what is your education background? Had you attended any aircraft maintenance courses before???
If you have - then kindly read the AN1101 thoroughly and heartfully as it will be easier for you to take any jobs that can lead you towards an operating aircraft.

All the best..bro (don't think too much laahhh...take it first lah, even pilot licence holders now are selling OTAI burger all over KL just to make a living)

Cheers !!

hi there and salam.

i was completed my on job training at szb.and heard bout this programme.actualy fresh graduated form training skul not to be a cleaner when them working at szb as a semi skills/ mechanic assistant. but them is placed under ground equipment maintenance department (GEMs).so has some missunderstanding. they also can aproach aircrafts to collect xperience and to complete work schedules.the main reason why these programmes is created bcoz them have no xperiences working at live aircrafts. their salary rate is about rm5.30 to rm6 per hour.so no choice for freshy to demand if they want to working at MAS.

I had headache after gone through what you posted here. I hope your level of english is not wholly reflected here, if it does, i suggest you to improve your language level for you to survive in this field. No offense.

Anyhow I've met a polytechnic shah alam graduate in MAS today and what snapon said here is true. He,particularly is bound to work in utility department as a cleaner supervisor for a year in order for him to be upgraded to full-skilled vendor to work with the aircraft. However I cannot deduce that they are treated this way because they have no experience working with live aircraft. Reason being they have spent 1.5 years out of their 2.5 years course undergoing OJT in MAS premise and mind you, they have been to almost every department/workshops in-relation to their studies. According to him, quite a number of graduates from poly now working in field other form the aviation sector. I guess the diploma cert got a certain degree of usefulness after all. Sad but true :(

It is always the issue of supply and demand. When the supply is high; the option left might only be as cleaners!!! When supply low; the option could be as good as full skill technician. In the case of this particular airlines; there's a lot of office politics going around; they just couldnt make up their mind.
Just bear with it; the important thing is to get into the industry and obtain and collect the experiences and knowledges. :( :( :(
