Ramp Agent Jobs

Postby EcoCruiser » Fri Jun 05, 2009 11:04 am

Hi Anyone could tell me how to apply ramp agent with Air Asia or MAS? I did not see any vacancy is available in their website. But this year, there were students graduated from Air Asia Academy as ramp agent.

Is there anyone is ramp agent here?

What are the requirement to be qualified for this job?

Thanks

Ramp Agents are responsible for aircraft arrivals, pushback and departures.
They also do water and toilet servicing. Their main tasks are cargo/baggage loading and unloading.
No strict qualifications required. If you can read/write english and malay that would be sufficient, preferably SPM and above.. There are even some degree holders but in the position of shift leaders and supervisors...
Basic pay starts from RM900

Normally ramp agent works is done by Vendor.
Maybe u can try it by searching vendor company for MAS.
If I'm not mistaken, there are 25 companies works as MAS vendor.

Mostly people around the world would call Ramp Agents as baggage handlers. But for AirAsia, Ramp Agents do multi tasking towing/pushback, baggage handling, water and lavatory servicing, ambulift, marshalling, and headset ( Hubs and Stations ). If you want to apply for the job in AirAsia, u just your resume and a letter applying for what job u want, then they'll call u. Better if you know someone from the inside. Now, AirAsia is employing Ramp Agents Girls..

Salary is RM900, Productivity Allowance RM500, Driving Allowance RM50, Towing Allowance RM100, Headset Allowance RM100 OT maximum 80hrs allowed.( Last time there was no limits )

I won't be active in here, just passing by to see what's happening out here.

Its a very demanding job being a ramp agent/handlers. They surely deserve more than that salary.
