Sorry, I'm usually just a silent reader but just HAD to reply to this. I agree with Drebarbas. You have to give a good impression if you want to be a CC no matter where you are. Once you're a CC, you're representing the airline and if you talk to people online using SMS talk then people would start pondering why so-so airlines accepted someone with bad English? Then people would start questioning the quality of the airline and its cabin crews. It also portrays your laziness. You know Qatar have written test, so if you're so used to this kind of English, it's bound to show whether you realize it or not. You also said you failed the written test. Wonder why? Also, no offense, when you said "u think their english wil b so good?? wake up la.....dun keep day dreaming there", the first impression I got is that you're kinda rude and you need an attitude check. If that's the kind of impression that I got, imagine what other people or interviewers could get. Also, 'net talk'/'SMS slang' is really annoying.

And SPM holders don't have good English? I suggest you actually do some research. I knew a lot of juniors back in college who were just fresh school leavers... they got A1 in English, could write perfect essay with barely any typos or grammatical errors and spoke very fluent English. Oh should I even mention I've seen a lot of kids below 10 could speak better English than adults?

Just my two cents :) It's up to you to take my advice and use it or bash me back and ignore it. It's your own choice.

Nope, A1 in SPM is not evidence to show one is good in English. In fact, so many students got A1 but could not actually speak fluently and write good English. SPM's English is basic. It's easy and it's all text book. I also got A1 (plus with a B in SPM's O level) but when I took an English class, read a grammar book, took the TOEFL exam, and read some questions from SAT papers (a.k.a SPM for Americans), boy was I struggling. Our SPM English is like what a 10 year old or younger would learn in America or Britain.

It was just an advice from a fellow forumer to another. You're free to talk however you like. You know your own level of English. It's just that, to some of us who don't know you personally or your level of English, talking like that gives us the impression that you can't talk English properly. And this being a Qatar Airlines thread, an international airline, their requirement for English might be higher than MAS or AirAsia.

Thank you for the info daouz_86, and good luck to whoever is going for it! ::D:

Dear chiharu,

WELL DONE !!!! I could not say it any better myself ........... :)

'DISMISSIVE' attitude is certainly has no venue in an airline .......... and we both know why now some people are still status quo......... ;)

Cheers
