Torx/LAMEs,

I read the news in NST and yet to get further details from my buddies in DCA. From your professional point of view, what are the possibilities that prop could detach (as reported in NST) in flt and causes of props detached.

Thank you

its rather bizarre to experience the whole prop detaching itself from the engine......... even during propstrikes the most serious case would end up in a single blade flying off the hub or possibly bending of a blade......... sounds like our press exaggerated this news quite a bit......

well its hard to believe..but dats d real deal.i know both victims,talkd 2 d student victim.apparently d prop did "come off",n it hit d right wing,causing it 2 break into half.they lost control,went into a spin(d instructor handled d spin well),n landed flat on d paddy fields.they fell from 2000ft above ground.
my point of view,d CTRM maintenance's fault.
