Malaysian air travel praised at Singapore Airshow

Postby laszlo » Sun Feb 07, 2010 1:20 pm

Malaysian airline Firefly has been recognized as the best value airline in the Asia Pacific region at the Singapore Airshow.

The airline took the "Best value Airline of the Year" award at the 2010 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Aerospace & Defense Awards, awarded to a winner based on their "diligence, commitment and innovative business strategies," announced Friday. Firefly covers internal routes in Malaysia and international routes from Penang and Subang to Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore. According to prices listed on their site, a flight from Subang to Singapore costs under €15.00.

Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) was recognized as the best large airport serving over 15 million passengers per year. It is the latest in a series of plaudits for the airport which regularly competes with regional rivals Singapore Changi, Hong Kong International Airport and South Korea's Incheon for awards. Auckland Airport took the title for best airport serving under 15 million passengers per year.

The awards were judged by aerospace analysts from Frost & Sullivan, a global business consulting firm.

What do you mean by that?

Anyway, in general, I think pilots are a bit too glorified.
An airline is a team effort, not just about pilots. You can have lots of pilots but no one to sell the tickets, how is the airline going to profit or even operate?

I remember a story once - A man was walking around a NASA building and saw the janitor sweeping the floor. He asks the janitor - "What are you doing?"
The janitor replied - "I'm helping to put a man on the moon"

Too glorified? Really? ............ :=\:

Probably you should try yourself to be one and lets prove to everyone here that piloting is just a piece of cake, easier than cleaning the toilet............ ::D:

On the other hand I did not discount the contribution of others ......... :o.o:

Janitor is just a janitor and that is why janitor is not an astronaut ............ ::D:

The one who printed his footprint on the moon is a legend, not the one who help to clean his piss .......... ::D:

Frost & Sullivan gave my car, Model of the Year award. It's a Proton, I'm somehow skeptical.
