Fly Lah!

Many of the S.O/F.O are complaining the pay tat we are getting are too low.. There are only getting 5.5/7k a mth take home....As a flt instructor in flying school there getting 12/14k a mth take home....Dun u think the gap is huge????
Think of the amount of training they need to go thru,their responsibility,their odd time flying schedule and etc...They always felt embarrassed when ppl start to ask their salary bcos every 1 tot airline pilot are getting 5 figure a mth,which is true,but not for aa fo/so......Tats really sad....

I started to know why every 1 is leaving tis company and join others once they got the rating......There won't be any loyal employee bcos there r not taking care by tony..I wish there will be another new low cost carrier operating a320 and then things will change for sure....

Now all pilots have no choice but to except tis ultra low pay.......Guys,get yr rating then start to hunt for other airlines......... Tats the only way u can get a better living for u/family..... Heard tat they will revise co pilot pay last mth,but latest news was,it will revise by 2011

For those young cadets out there get yr afi rating earn better salary 1st.....Now is the worst time to join airline as they dun need freshie.However the time will come when they need a lot of pilots and tats the time u move in and demand.......

haha... I disagree with what you are saying.
You go MFA and ask all the instructors there... AFI, QFI, CFI ask them how much they earn monthly.
I can bet no one earn more than RM8k per month...

their HIGHEST basic can go is RM6500 (4-5 years in MFA you only can get this much basic)... Hourly allowance is RM10 for first 50 hours then RM20 for next 10 and RM30 for the next 10... MAX can clock per month is 70 hours... lets say they fly until MAX 70 hours.

RM10 X 50 hours = RM500
RM20 x 10 hours = RM200
RM30 x 10 hours = RM300

Total RM1000 + basic RM6500 = RM7500

i used to work for Uncle tony...as a captain's secretary (FO)... the paperwork . i use to earn a fat salary of 7500rm a month for 80hrs of flying.
4000rm basic and 45rm. but minus approx 1000rm for epf and tax take home around 6300rm. When I was flying not long ago... cabin crew was earning more than i was(Tax Free) after i was flying 80hrs. I am not against cabin crew.. they have to put up with all the problems with pax etc... All i wanted was a fair salary and most important to recognise for the amount of work and suffering we put into the company.

then firefly is much better... for a fresh SO, basic pay is 4200, and 60 per hour and 60 per nightstop. lets say about 60 hours and 2 night stops, you'll get about 7920.. minus epf and stuff, about 7300++. and yeah, we don't have to do loadsheets! :D

I thought most of the members here claimed that flying is their passion and NOT for the money ......

I wonder why you guys are start complaining .....

Thats why they are litterally getting raped. Their pay is just an abuse to mankind.
Passion, passion jugak, but pay is much more important.

i agree with firqin. the study loans need to be settled too right? This is really shocking cause I thought AK's pilot are earning alot and living the life :P

oh and mitolo said that cadets should get AFI rating. So does this means that he wants the frozen ATPL to got to a waste? Because as i know it ATPL must be unfrozen in 5 years time and must be on board a 5700kg aircraft. Correct me if I'm wrong

Im encouraging young freshie to take up afi 1st, bcos now isn't the rite time to enter airline as u need them more then they need u.....However, work as an afi for 2years,save as much as possible,clock my hours and experience,then you will be more valuable....

I was an instructor b4 joining airline and my take home salary is around 12-14k a mth and pls dun compare wt MFA....I just dunno why ppl work there and getting the lowest pay as an instructor....(insulted wt their pay)

My basic as a flt instructor (qfi) $9k, allowance $ 70.00 p/hr.
My average hrs was 65-80hrs a mth....

Conclusion: Dun so excited to join airline....Nama saja glamour but pay sucks work like a dog...
Join airline when they needs f.o,then they will treassure u..
Flying academy needs afi,so they will treassure u and pay u proffessionally except MFA... ...

Questions: Why im in airline then??
Im in general aviation for 5 years,as a flt instructor for 3years,basically nothing new to learn oledi,tats the reason
i move on to airline.....Its interesting,a lot of new stuff but very pissed wt the pay......However i've choosen the
route and just need to move on and bare wt it.....Of cos,airline will be every 1 aim tat includes me,but need to
know the rite timing to join....Always know yr option,think b4 decide.......Good luck guyz......
