torx,

I did receive news (unconfirmed though) that TLDM was interested in taking over the Maritime Agency, but this was quite some time ago, and frankly I do not see any development in this case. Legally, its still under the PM's Department. But as all of you know, our sweet-talking PM is the Defence Minister as well, so what difference does it really make?

Heard they were planning for 3 new ATR 72-600, the newest model. But ofcourse this is unconfirmed as well. Does anyone know what they are planning to use this fleet for?

and yfardzley,

what?

1. For a politician (the lucky one) to get a handsome amount of commission from the purchase of the aircraft.

2. For another politician to get a handsome amount of commission from the purchase of equiptment onboard.

3. For another politician to get a handsome amount of commission from the maintenance of the aircraft and equipment.

4. For another politician to get a handsome amount of commission from the the upgrade of the equipment after out of warranty.

....... the list can go on and on and on ....... and the last of the list is only to carry out a maritime surveillance duty which was done by the RMAF for many years.......

Y ATR? Is it have other roles (concerning APMM)? I know they have 5 (or more, pls correct me) that amfibiant thingy, and their admirals recently open up application for any pilot interested to fly that bombardier (refer JPA for app),and they recruit theirs at Ipoh..
