Well, for an airline of SQ's size 80 is small in normal times. "How can they accommodate so many pilots?"

1. It takes about 3 years on average to train a raw pilot to SQ First Officer.

2. Existing pilots will not remain in the company forever. Some will retire, some will resign, some will be sacked. They will need to be replace.

3. Bear in mind the number of aircraft ordered to be delivered: 20 787, 20 A350, 6 A380 on option, additional 15 A330 and 8 77W. Who's gonna fly them?
