ok so as requested by flyanyway:
i went for the exam on the 23rd of May 2009. Some ppl in my batch sent emails to each other to help each other prepare ourselves for the exam which we had no clue of. Among some of them is piphunter11 from the old forum "flydamnit" and me... Ok we prepared ourselves by reading the MAS psycho motor and psychometric test. We informed each other while getting to know each other more. On the day of the exams, at AirAsia Academy we were each given a specific time slot for the exams. Each of us would be doing it separately and alone. We were requested to arrive earlier to receive instructions before hand. Nervous enough none of us knew what was lying ahead of us. I arrived at 4pm as my slot was 4.30pm the candidate whom was before was piphunter11. I waited anxiously until 5pm together with another girl. The exam coordinator came out and welcome us to the 2nd Stage. We were briefed that we were to be taking it seperately. There were two rooms, one where the test were conducted and one where everyone else waits. So as i enter, i was hopiing to see real equipment but to my relief and also dissapointment i only saw these:
1)A 50 inch Plasma TV
2)A six button joypad (like the ones used in arcades)
3)A playstation 2
Upon looking at these i felt like it was close to home, come on we all play video games right? who doesn't? so i was like smiling happily. The coordinator kindly explained to me how the in-flight displays work and how it affects the course of the flight. Your in-flight display is the same as a fighter planes display, not a commercial jet. I was requested to do the following:
1) take off successfully 3 times
2) land successfully 3 times
So all the briefings only come from the game itself, the game will brief you wad to do inorder to score full marks, i.e. 100.
e.g. if you are able to put to full throttle: 6 marks
if you can lift the nose at an angle of 5 degrees : 10 marks
if you can maintain the angle: 10 marks
if you can raise the landing gear: 10 marks
and etc.
By successfully doing all these you can obtain a perfect score. For the marks i am not sure if they take the best or the mean marks. You cannot retry if you have taken all 3 already.
Well, all the above was just psycho motor.
For psychometric, for our batch we were judged by our attitude when we met the coordinator and how we reacted when flying. How do i know this i caught a glimpse of the marking paper because we have to sign it to confirm attendance, and i saw good attitude and etc.... under remarks.
After completing all the test we were allowed dismissal and were told to prepare for our 3rd Stage just in case we passed.
There you have it from me.
Hope you can pass during your 2nd stage.
Evias, out.:D
