aiyaa...why so confused one..??hehe...seriously..it's not that complicated at all...i guess the explanation was very straight forward and simple..unability to comprehend tht is surely a bad sign of aptitude for pilot wannabe..

ok..let's make it simpler and clearer shall we...

Jordan...

1. To join KTU u MUST apply through TUDM (which is via the Tenaga Kerja C (TKC) in MINDEF). TKC is the unit in charge of selection in Malaysian Armed Forces.

2. Ok..by joining KTU (which u'll be offered if u pass the selection and interview held by TKC) meaning u're enlisting urself to be a regular full service military personnel. (meaning u jadi askar la...no two ways about it...if military is not in ur career ambition list..STOP reading NOW..:-))

3. KTU is Kolej Tentera Udara or Air Force College in Kepala Batas Kedah. There are several training units in KTU and among them is the Cadet School and Flying School (PULATIBANG 1 or PLTB 1)..

4. To join PLTB 1 as trainee u MUST be a commissioned officer..meaning u must go through the Cadet school training 1st (which is doing the twinning diploma wt UTM at KTU as an air force cadet).

5. To accomplish para 1-4 above..apply carefully and read the advertisement as what said by Mr DrebarBas earlier on..apply for Cadet in KTU..not Airmen (which are trained at Institut Latihan Udara in Ipoh).

6. On the there's another story part..here goes..if u pass the cadet trng + diploma with flying colors..tht's good for u..but tht doesnt guarantee u to become an air force pilot..READ..PILOT..not fighter pilot...meaning all types of pilot..

7. On joining PLTB1..(which is after cadet school)..u'll be trained to become an air force pilot. if u can fly and have the aptitue and fit all the required requirements..then u'll become an air force pilot..READ again..PILOT...so meaning if u scored the minimum passing marks in ur diploma during cadet u can still be an air force pilot.

8. Again..refer to last post by good ol Mr DrebarBas..it's ur performance during the flying training in PLTB 1 tht will guarantee u to be FIGHTER PILOT. So...Even if u scored a 4 flat CGPA in ur diploma but if u dont pass the flying training then u'll not be a pilot but U'll be channeled towards other trades in TUDM as ground officers. U can't quit TUDM because on joining the Cadet School u have already sign a bonded agreement for certain years of service wt TUDM.( Tht's y if military is not in your career choice stop reding at para 2.)

And for Lemonish...

9. Nope...u dont fly transport or chopper 1st before fighter..refer my last post..drebarbas and torx's last post as well...:-)..but if one is not selected to become a fighter pilot..one can still apply or appeal for consideration from the last position the school sent you (meanin u must pass the flying trng la..be sent to transport or choper..not the ones yg fail flying trng....)

10. Lastly to all...being a fighter pilot is not a big deal..dont make such a big fuss about it..it's still piloting. FLYING IS A PASSION AND A DREAM COME TRUE FOR SOME..so..if it's a fighter jets, commercial airliner, light aircraft or helicopters...what the heck??who cares..it's being in the sky and in control tht counts...

Pardon me...dang!!!these are very loooong...cheers..;-)

Thanks for the effort HawkerMaya!
If this is still not clear.. then your statement is valid:
"unability to comprehend tht is surely a bad sign of aptitude for pilot wannabe.." :^^:
