Yup i heard that fighter pilot will have more chances to go for Airline industry as they have more flying hours as PIC (Person-In-Charge) so the advancement to Captain would be faster.

But usually those fighter pilots would take up their ATPL (Airline Transportation Pilot License) few years just before they retire from being a fighter pilot. After they have the license then they can get a job in the airline industry d.

Most of the flying college instructor are Air Force pilots.

So being in the air force could be a good choice too.

Neway, there are two types of bond for Air Force, one is the short term while the other is the long term.

I have the privy to speak to one of the high ranking RMAF officers recently. He said there is no intake for 2011 as the armed forces is recruiting all branches of officers corp through UPNM probably with effect from 2012/2013. If you notice, there is no advert of any recruitment for officers corp in any newspaper after SPM results being announced last March.

In a very near future, all officers from all branches (Army, Navy & Airforce) will undergo a twin program (Academic and military training) at UPNM. This program is similar as ROTU but ROTU is a reservist unit.

Once an officer is graduated from UPNM (with a degree and a military rank) he will be channeled to one of the services (as requested by him) to undergo further training like piloting for the airforce, basic infantry for army or seamanship for the navy ..... :<.<:

The whole idea is to make sure a military officer in the future is at least a degree holder, regardless the service branch he is in.

Clear as mud? .... :o.o:
