Comparing flying and driving depends on what you are driving and flying. If you're flying a C172, then I suppose it's fair to compare with an SUV. My friend also flew with cushions and pillows to compensate for her short height. However if you're talking about the big jets, then it's a totally different ball game.
The other types of flying are unfortunately not very common in Malaysia. Having said that, it's not totally impossible too. Other than airline flying which tends to offer raw pilots some form of experience, other flying e.g. charter, expects you to have enough hours. Some people go through the hard way e.g. instructing to gain valuable hours and then proceed from there. There are a number of flying schools in Malaysia that offers instructors course and there is always an option to work for these flying schools once you finish. Flight Instructor is a very respectable job and there is a short supply in Malaysia because most young pilots do not fancy being an instructor. They don't pay very well, but because there aren't a lot of flying, the life is good. You get to spend a lot of time with your family if that's what you're looking for.
