Suppose FI's are getting somewhere in the RM7-10k bracket depending on seniority and stuff.

I know many FIs have got paid max RM13000 (or even more) a month! And you get to rest on the weekends and public holidays. :)

That is if there's a shortage of instructors. I think it's normal in any industry.
If there's a shortage of instructors, they will try to attract or maintain them by paying them higher.
If there is a excess of instructors available, do you think any company is going to pay them attractively? They'll probably say "if you don't like you current salary, leave. There's a long queue of instructors waiting for a job"

Same goes for any other jobs... supply greater than demand, the company offers you peanuts & you have no choice but take it or leave it...

I like Maverick's comment! :-)

Currently, there's no shortage of F.I. in Malaysia. I presume there will be no shortage of F.I. for the next one-two years in Malaysia.

That's probably because the number of unemployed fresh ATPL guys took up the instructor's post?
Wait till the airlines start hiring again, then I won't be surprised most of the instructor's will go for the airline job & once again, there will be a shortage of instructors...
