Eye test for SIA cadet interview

Postby jenson.button » Tue Feb 22, 2011 9:55 pm

Greetings.
I just got an email from SIA for cadet pilot interview on this coming week.
In the email they mention "please see a qualified doctor (optician not acceptable) for a visual acuity eye-test with and without optical aids (Snellen's Chart) and colour vision test (Ishihara) and submit the original copy of the report on the day of the interview"

My question is, where can i do the eye test? eye specialist? or any clinic will do?

I did mine at Tun Hussien Eye Hospital in PJ. There's a DCA-approved eye specialist you can see there. I saw Dr George Thomas. You can also see Dr Pall Singh.

any clinic with Ishihara Book will be fine.. Just ask if the do have the "Color Blind Test Book".. As i could say, most clinic do keep the book.

I've asked Ms. Woo regarding the eye test, as long as it is done by an optometrist or an Ophthalmologist then it should be fine as both of these carries the "Dr" title while Optician is not acceptable as they do not perform medical test.
